Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Fish fillets (snapper or grouper)
  • 1 cup Lime juice
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 1 large Bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Fish stock
  • 1 can Tomatoes, diced 14.5 oz
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Flour for thickening

Instructions: 

  • 1. Rinse fish fillets with lime juice and water. Pat dry.
  • 2. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until soft.
  • 3. Add fish stock, tomatoes, thyme, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Bring to a simmer.
  • 4. Add fish fillets to the pot. Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes until fish is cooked through.
  • 5. Mix flour with a little water to make a paste. Stir into the pot to thicken the stew. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  • 6. Serve hot with rice or bread.

Notes:

This dish is best enjoyed fresh. Adjust seasoning to taste.
