Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft.
3. Add the reindeer meat and cook until browned.
4. Add the mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes.
5. Pour in the heavy cream and water, then bring to a simmer.
6. Season with salt and black pepper.
7. Let it simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
8. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or bread.
Notes:
For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of red wine.
