Instructions:
1. Heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden.
2. Add the minced garlic and turmeric, and sauté for another minute.
3. Add the meat cubes and brown on all sides.
4. Stir in the tomato paste and chopped tomatoes. Cook for a few minutes until the tomatoes soften.
5. Pour in the water or broth, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the meat is tender.
6. Add the okra, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 15 minutes until the okra is tender.
7. Adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot with rice.
Notes:
For a vegetarian version, you can skip the meat and add more vegetables like eggplant or zucchini.
