Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Deer meat, cubed
  • 2 cups Carrots, sliced
  • 2 cups Potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup Onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 4 cups Beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 1 tsp Rosemary
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add a bit of oil.
  • 2. Brown the deer meat on all sides, then remove and set aside.
  • 3. In the same pot, add onions and garlic, cooking until softened.
  • 4. Add carrots and potatoes, cooking for a few minutes.
  • 5. Stir in tomato paste, thyme, and rosemary.
  • 6. Return the deer meat to the pot and pour in the beef broth.
  • 7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours.
  • 8. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes:

For a thicker stew, mix a bit of flour with water and stir in during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
