Dumpling Ingredients

Instructions:
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is translucent.
Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, carrots, potatoes, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt for the dumplings. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling mixture onto the simmering stew. Cover and cook for another 30 minutes, until the dumplings are cooked through.
Notes:
Feel free to add other vegetables like peas or green beans to the stew.
