Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add the cubed beef and cook until browned on all sides.
Stir in the diced tomatoes, okra, salt, and black pepper.
Pour in the water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 45 minutes.
Serve hot with rice or bread.
Notes:
For a vegetarian version, you can skip the beef and add more vegetables like bell peppers and carrots.
