Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Lamb shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup Red wine
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 2 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions: 

  • 1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the lamb and brown on all sides.
  • 2. Remove the lamb and set aside. In the same pot, add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened.
  • 3. Return the lamb to the pot. Add the tomatoes, red wine, beef broth, oregano, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
  • 4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 2 hours, or until the lamb is tender.
  • 5. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes:

This Greek lamb stew is perfect for a cozy dinner. Serve with crusty bread or over rice.
