Guinness Beef Stew Recipe

Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lb Beef Chuck cut into cubes
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 cups Carrots sliced
  • 2 cups Potatoes diced
  • 1 can Guinness Beer
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Thyme dried
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions: 

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add beef and cook until browned on all sides. Remove beef and set aside.
  • In the same pot, add onions and garlic. Cook until onions are translucent.
  • Stir in tomato paste, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute.
  • Return beef to the pot. Pour in Guinness beer and beef broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  • Add carrots and potatoes. Simmer for another hour, or until vegetables and beef are tender.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes:

For a thicker stew, you can add a slurry of cornstarch and water during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
