German Goulash Stew

Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef Chuck cut into cubes
  • 2 Onions finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Caraway Seeds
  • 1 can Tomato Paste (6 oz)
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • to taste Salt and Pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add a bit of oil.
  • 2. Brown the beef cubes in batches, setting them aside once browned.
  • 3. In the same pot, add the onions and cook until softened.
  • 4. Add the garlic, paprika, and caraway seeds, cooking for another minute.
  • 5. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for a couple of minutes.
  • 6. Return the beef to the pot, pour in the beef broth, and add the bay leaves.
  • 7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  • 8. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes:

Serve with crusty bread or over egg noodles for a complete meal.
