Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef stew meat cut into chunks
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups onions sliced
  • 1 cup dark beer
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp bay leaf
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. In a large pot, brown the beef stew meat over medium heat.
  • 2. Add the sliced onions and cook until they are soft.
  • 3. Sprinkle the flour over the meat and onions, stirring to coat.
  • 4. Pour in the beef broth and dark beer, stirring to combine.
  • 5. Add the brown sugar, vinegar, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
  • 6. Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  • 7. Remove the bay leaf before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

This stew pairs well with crusty bread or mashed potatoes.
