Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup rice cakes
  • 1 cup cabbage chopped
  • 0.5 cup carrots sliced
  • 0.5 cup green onions chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp gochujang Korean red chili paste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions: 

  • Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 1 minute.
  • Add chicken and cook until browned.
  • Stir in gochujang, soy sauce, and sugar. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Add chicken broth, rice cakes, cabbage, and carrots. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Add green onions and cook for another 5 minutes.

Notes:

Adjust the spiciness by adding more or less gochujang.
