Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pint Oysters shucked
  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 small Onion finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper freshly ground

Instructions: 

  • 1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • 2. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  • 3. Pour in the whole milk and heavy cream, stirring occasionally.
  • 4. Add the shucked oysters and their liquor. Cook until the edges of the oysters curl.
  • 5. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  • 6. Serve hot with crusty bread.

Notes:

This stew is best enjoyed fresh. Adjust seasoning as needed.
