Instructions:
1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
2. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until translucent.
3. Pour in the whole milk and heavy cream, stirring occasionally.
4. Add the shucked oysters and their liquor. Cook until the edges of the oysters curl.
5. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
6. Serve hot with crusty bread.
Notes:
This stew is best enjoyed fresh. Adjust seasoning as needed.
