Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef chuck cut into cubes
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp caraway seeds
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 500 ml beef broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. Heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • 2. Add the onions and cook until golden brown.
  • 3. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  • 4. Stir in the paprika and caraway seeds.
  • 5. Add the beef cubes and brown on all sides.
  • 6. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for a couple of minutes.
  • 7. Pour in the beef broth, add the bay leaves, and bring to a boil.
  • 8. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 2 hours or until the beef is tender.
  • 9. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes:

Serve with crusty bread or over egg noodles.
