Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Reindeer meat cut into cubes
  • 2 Carrots sliced
  • 2 Potatoes diced
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 L Beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Thyme dried
  • 1 tsp Salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp Black pepper ground

Instructions: 

  • 1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add a bit of oil.
  • 2. Add the reindeer meat and brown on all sides.
  • 3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cook until softened.
  • 4. Stir in the tomato paste, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • 5. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil.
  • 6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 1.5 hours.
  • 7. Add the carrots and potatoes, cook for another 30 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  • 8. Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve hot.

Notes:

This stew is even better the next day, once the flavors have melded together.
