Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef shank
  • 4 Carrots peeled and cut into large chunks
  • 4 Leeks cleaned and cut into large chunks
  • 4 Potatoes peeled and cut into large chunks
  • 1 Onion studded with 2 cloves
  • 2 cloves Garlic crushed
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. Place the beef shank in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 2 hours.
  • 2. Add the carrots, leeks, potatoes, onion, garlic, and bouquet garni to the pot. Season with salt and pepper.
  • 3. Continue to simmer for another hour, or until the meat and vegetables are tender.
  • 4. Remove the bouquet garni and serve the stew hot.

Notes:

This stew is perfect for a cozy winter meal. Serve with crusty bread.
