Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 kg Fish (preferably catfish)
  • 2 tbsp Mbongo spice
  • 1 cup Palm oil
  • 2 medium Onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
  • 2 cups Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup Water
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. Clean and cut the fish into portions.
  • 2. Heat the palm oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • 3. Add the chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until fragrant.
  • 4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  • 5. Add the Mbongo spice, water, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • 6. Add the fish pieces to the pot. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
  • 7. Serve hot with rice or plantains.

Notes:

This traditional Cameroonian stew is perfect for a hearty meal. Adjust the spices to your taste.
