drained and rinsed

Instructions:
1. In a large pot, brown the pork shoulder over medium heat.
2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cook until softened.
3. Stir in the hominy, chicken broth, ground cumin, and oregano.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours.
5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste before serving.
Notes:
For a spicier stew, add some chopped green chilies or a dash of red chili powder.
