beef stew meat
cut into 1-inch cubes

all-purpose flour

vegetable oil

onion
chopped

garlic
minced

beef broth

cup
red wine
optional

carrots
sliced

potatoes
peeled and cubed

tomato paste

tsp
dried thyme

tsp
dried rosemary
Salt and pepper
to taste
Instructions:
Coat beef with flour. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown beef in batches.
Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
Stir in beef broth, wine, tomato paste, thyme, and rosemary. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1.5 hours.
Add carrots and potatoes. Simmer for another 30 minutes until vegetables are tender.
Season with salt and pepper.
Notes:
Serve hot with crusty bread.
