Equipment

Ingredients:  

  • 3 lbs pork shoulder cut into chunks
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce

Instructions: 

  • Season the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Place the seasoned pork shoulder in the Instant Pot.
  • Add chicken broth, onion, and garlic.
  • Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to high pressure for 60 minutes.
  • Once done, allow for natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then quick release.
  • Remove the pork shoulder from the Instant Pot and shred with two forks.
  • Mix in barbecue sauce with the shredded pork.
  • Serve the tender and juicy pork shoulder on buns or with your favorite sides.

Notes:

For an extra kick, try adding a splash of apple cider vinegar to the barbecue sauce.
