Main Ingredients
1
cup
basmati rice
4
cups
whole milk
1/2
cup
sugar
1/4
teaspoon
cardamom powder
10-12
strands
saffron
2
tablespoons
chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews)
1
tablespoon
raisins
Instructions:
Rinse the basmati rice under running water until the water runs clear.
In the Instant Pot, combine the rinsed rice, milk, sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron strands.
Close the lid, set the vent to sealing, and pressure cook on high for 20 minutes.
Once done, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure.
Open the lid, stir the kheer well, and add the chopped nuts and raisins.
Serve the kheer warm or chilled.
Notes:
For a richer flavor, you can add a few drops of rose water or kewra water before serving. Garnish with additional nuts for an extra crunch.
