  • 3-4 lb pork shoulder
  • 1 cup chicken or beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions: 

  • Season the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat olive oil. Sear the pork shoulder on all sides until browned.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the Instant Pot.
  • Pour in the broth and close the lid. Set the Instant Pot to high pressure for 60 minutes.
  • Once done, allow for a natural pressure release for 15 minutes before quick releasing any remaining pressure.
  • Remove the pork shoulder from the Instant Pot and shred with two forks.
  • Serve the shredded pork with your favorite sides or use it in tacos, sandwiches, or salads.
