  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions: 

  • Season the rump roast with salt and pepper.
  • Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat olive oil.
  • Sear the rump roast on all sides until browned.
  • Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  • Pour in beef broth, thyme, and rosemary.
  • Close the Instant Pot lid, set to high pressure for 60 minutes.
  • Allow natural pressure release for 15 minutes before quick release.
  • Slice the roast and serve with the gravy.
