Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1.75 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions: 

  • Rinse the basmati rice under running water until the water runs clear.
  • Press the "Saute" button on the Instant Pot and heat ghee or oil.
  • Add cumin seeds and sauté for 30 seconds until they sizzle.
  • Add the rinsed rice and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  • Pour water and add salt. Stir well.
  • Close the Instant Pot with the lid and set the valve to sealing position.
  • Pressure cook on high for 5 minutes.
  • Once done, allow natural pressure release for 5 minutes, then do a quick pressure release.
  • Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.

Notes:

This recipe is perfect for a quick and easy side dish. Adjust the salt to your taste.
