Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak sliced thinly
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Green onions chopped, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions: 

  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, and ginger.
  • Add sliced flank steak to the Instant Pot and pour the sauce over it.
  • Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to high pressure for 10 minutes.
  • Once done, do a quick release and open the lid.
  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Stir it into the beef mixture in the Instant Pot.
  • Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and cook until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve the Mongolian beef over rice and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes:

For a spicier version, add some red pepper flakes or Sriracha to the sauce mixture.
