Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions: 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and cook until softened.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti pasta with the meat sauce. Mix well.
  • Transfer half of the ziti mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. Repeat with the remaining ziti mixture and cheese.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
