Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 beef round steaks thinly sliced
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 4 dill pickles sliced into strips
  • Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions: 

  • Lay out the beef round steaks and season with salt and pepper. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each steak.
  • Place a slice of bacon, some chopped onion, and a strip of dill pickle on each steak.
  • Roll up the steaks and secure with toothpicks.
  • Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and brown the rouladen rolls on all sides.
  • Pour in the beef broth and close the lid. Cook on high pressure for 25 minutes.
  • Once done, release the pressure manually and remove the rouladen rolls from the Instant Pot.
  • Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and add it to the broth in the Instant Pot. Stir well to thicken the sauce.
  • Serve the rouladen rolls with the gravy on top.

Notes:

For a more authentic taste, you can use German mustard instead of Dijon mustard. Serve with mashed potatoes or spaetzle for a complete meal.
