Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions: 

  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add the egg, vanilla extract, sour cream, and baking powder. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Press the dough into the bottom of a greased pressure cooker.
  • Arrange the sliced apples on top of the dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Close the pressure cooker and cook on high pressure for 25 minutes.
  • Release the pressure and carefully remove the kuchen from the pressure cooker.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
