Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions: 

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 7-inch cake pan.
  • Add 1 cup of water to the pressure cooker, then place a trivet inside.
  • Carefully lower the cake pan onto the trivet.
  • Close the pressure cooker and cook on high pressure for 30 minutes.
  • Allow natural pressure release for 10 minutes before quick releasing any remaining pressure.
  • Carefully remove the cake from the pressure cooker and let it cool before slicing and serving.

Notes:

For an extra touch, you can top the cake with a chocolate glaze or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
