Instructions:
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes.
Discard the tea bags and stir in the sugar until dissolved.
Pour the tea into a pitcher and add the remaining 4 cups of water.
Chill in the refrigerator until cold.
Serve over ice with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.
Notes:
Lemon slices and fresh mint leaves are optional but add a refreshing twist to the sweet tea.
