How to make sloppy joes in the pressure cooker
Sassy sloppy joe recipe
3 lbs ground beef or sirloin I prefer sirloin as it is less fat.
1 1⁄2 cups diced onions
½ cup each red and green bell pepper
3 cloves garlic, minced
3⁄4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons mustard
1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
1⁄4 teaspoon thyme
2 cups ketchup
1 cup chili sauce
This seems to be a family favorite. Considering now I have made them 3 times in the past month, I would say they are a hit. Today I am sharing how to make sloppy joes in the pressure cooker.
If you are looking to reduce the fat and calories, feel free to use ground turkey. It won’t compromise the taste at all. I have made them with both variations and myself and the family enjoy them just the same.
You can find the recipe down below.
Thanks for stopping by Home pressure cooking today. I would love to see you over on our Home pressure cooking Facebook page where we share live cooking demo’s once a week. When I say WE, I mean I drag my hubster along with me. It’s essential to get your man cooking. We can’t make it any easier for them with the pressure cooker.
Pin it, make it:) Enjoy.
On Saute (highest heat setting) brown ground beef, pepper, and onion. Tossing around and being careful not to burn. You can adjust the saute accordingly if you feel it is too high. Drain any excess fat.
Stir the rest of the ingredients together in a bowl. Pour over the beef and stir well.
Close the lid and set the valve to sealing. Set the pressure to high and time for 8 minutes.
Serve on roll of choice with side salad, fries, etc. ENJOY!
